The original Jaguar bucket seats have been beautifully retrimmed in Black Nappa Leather by AV Classics, Silsoe, Bedfordshire, lap belts with chrome release flap and Jaguar leaper emblem, new black deep pile carpets with sound deadening, retrimmed original door cards with flawless chrome furniture, unmarked aluminium centre console and dashboard facia, Marl Grey headlining and original sun visors all retrimmed to perfection.
The original refurbished dashboard presents as new, all interior lighting, crystal clear Smiths gauges, Lucas dipping rear view mirror, toggle switches and electrics work as they were intended.
Fitted with front and rear heated screens, a wood rim 3-spoke brushed aluminium E-Type steering wheel and original Growler centre boss... Stunning throughout.
The body has been extensively restored by Glamorgan Classic Cars over a 5 year period and completed in the Autumn of 2019. The history file documents over 300 images of the E-type restoration from start to finish, the body was stripped back to bare metal and painted inside and out.
Painted in the original Jaguar colour of Carmen Red. The paintwork offers a flawless uniform finish which is a testament to the quality of workmanship carried out 6 years ago.
Factory panel fit, excellent shut lines, gaps, and reassuring thud as you close the doors. The underside stripped, painted and undersealed, every component has been meticulously restored and the whole car presents to show standards.
All external bright work is either original or been replated and looks stunning throughout. Original Lucas lighting all around with the exception of better performing Wipac halogen headlights. Uroglas, new heated front and rear screens, new door glass and original Triplex opening rear quarter windows, all unmarked... Wonderful
Wheels - Sitting on unmarked chrome deep dish 72 spoke wire wheels for a better appearance and road holding, 2-ear Jaguar spinners and all matching perfect Avon CR6ZZ 205/70 R15 tyres.
Brakes - Upgraded powerful Fossway Performance lightweight 4-piston calipers and vented disc brakes.
The fully detailed engine and engine bay house the incredible fully rebuilt Jaguar 3781cc straight 6 engine, 264 bhp and 317 ft-lb torque with perfectly set up triple Weber DCOE 45 carburettors on a rolling road by Butlin & Sons, Swadlincote, Derbyshire, aluminium radiator with electric cooling fan and 123 Distributor.
The engine has been completely stripped and rebuilt including new pistons, bearings, seals, camshafts and full head rebuild by Ken Jenkins Independent Classic Jaguar Specialists and has completed a mere 2420 miles since.
On the road she cannot fail to impress and what a joy to drive. A recent Beagle Engineering 5-speed manual gearbox conversion has been fitted and selects with ease, the new clutch is light in operation, gear changes slick and precise and starts hot or cold without issue. The 3.8 Series crisp exhaust note is magical through the full stainless steel exhaust system with horned tailpipes and free flow manifold.
We have the original 4-speed Moss gearbox available with the car which has been fully rebuilt by JPR Competition Gearboxes.
The E-type's impact on the public when it was announced is now the stuff of legend and to many enthusiasts, the early models are the most desirable.
The Jaguar Heritage Certificate documents this E-type was originally built 26th June 1962 to LHD specification, chassis number 886335, in Carmen Red with a Black interior as a personal export for Mr C.T Sakaguchi an American Express Executive living in the UK and registered on 2364 WK Coventry issued number plate from new.
Returning back to the UK October 2014 with all US export documentation and restored over a 5 year period, converted to RHD and returning back to the UK roads in March 2019.
The comprehensive history file documents a wealth of invoices for restoration, parts, maintenance and a complete bumper to bumper inspection and comprehensive service by Butlin & Son at a cost of £6,266 in November 2022, just 400 miles ago. Jaguar Heritage build records and first registration documentation, Jaguar Heritage certificate, Coventry Transport Museum Certificate of Vehicle Authenticity, 2 sets of keys, original chassis plate, and a USB with over 300 hundred stage-by-stage complete restoration pictures.
Taxation Class: Historic Vehicle - Zero road tax, MOT and ULEZ exempt.
For peace of mind, a fresh 12 month MOT will be completed upon sale.
