Interior & Equipment
Exactly as Land Rover Intended, minimal but with everything you need. The original seats have been fully restored in correct black vinyl, All gauges refurbished and working correctly, all switch gear operates as it should through the new wiring loom. The complete interior front and rear has been repainted to a high gloss Bronze Green finish and is unmarked. The original banjo steering wheel has been fully restored and looks stunning. Heavy duty Land Rover mats protect the floor in the cab area and the rear fitted out with a tailor made heavy duty ribbed rubber...
Exterior
This Series 2 has been finished in the traditional period Bronze Green colour code LRC001. During the restoration of 2018 everything was stripped back to bare alloy, new bulkhead fitted, the paintwork throughout has a very deep uniformed finish inside, outside and underneath. Spare wheel sits on the original bonnet mounting plate. All exterior lighting is new, the original Land Rover plaques front and rear have been refurbished. This series 2 sits on a brand new galvanised chassis; the underside is equally as clean and impressive as the top. A new Exmoor Khaki canvas hood with side and rear screens has been fitted, along with new hood sticks. The hinged front screen operates perfectly... Show winning quality and attention to detail.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
Land Rover factory steel pressed wheels fully refurbished and finished in flawless limestone paint. Shod with brand new all matching premium General Grabber TR tyres. The complete hydraulic drum brake system has been renewed, the handbrake operates with ease and holds firm.
Engine & Transmission
Fitted with the correct 4-cylinder 2286cc petrol engine with unleaded head and optional 4-wheel drive. The engine, 4 speed gear box with high and low ratios, transfer box, front and rear axles and differentials were all rebuilt by Warne Series Restorations during the restoration of 2018 and have covered circa 50 miles since. The engine, and engine bay are fully detailed to show standards in keeping with the quality restoration of the rest of the vehicle. Needless to say she starts on the button hot or cold and idles perfecly. On the road she performs well, gear selection is good with no adverse or concerning rattles or crunches.
Summary
One of the final 3 restoration projects completed November 2018 by Warne Series Restoration of Durley Southampton before retirement in the summer of 2019.
This is a truly stunning nut and bolt restoration of the highest standards. The pictures speak for them selves. This certainly is an investment grade rare Series 2 and one not to be missed.
12 months MOT's will be completed at the point of sale, of course this Series 2 is HPI Clear.
