Interior & Equipment
The original seats were re-upholstered in 2016 by a specialist restorer in the correct autumn leaf basket weave vinyl and all foam replaced with new. The door cards and full carpet set were also replaced in the same matching autumn leaf colour way.
The original dashboard and fascia are all in exceptional order and complemented by the original perfect MG leather rim steering wheel. All original clocks and gauges work perfectly with crystal clear glass, all switches, electrics and heater work as they were intended. Correct MG rubber floor mats protect the luxury full carpet set.
Exterior
A full documented restoration was carried out using a British Heritage Bodyshell in 1992 and painted in the original colour Teal Blue (Code BLVC 18).
The paint finish and bodywork are still outstanding today with no rust or blemishes, factory panel fit, perfect shut lines and gaps. The underside is solid throughout, professionally undersealed during restoration and now treated with a fresh coat of Lanoguard.
'Originality' was key during the restoration; most of the lights are original, bright work replated or replaced with quality items, the only deviation is the 1973 model year honeycomb grill. The Double Duck Michelotti hood is perfect, piped in grey with a white roof lining, all screens are very clear, and a hood tonneau cover is also included.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
The original 5J x 14 Rostyle steel painted wheels have been fully restored and are unmarked including the spare. Sitting on excellent all matching Falken Sincera SN832 165/80 R14 tyres.
The full braking system has been overhauled needless to say, the braking power is excellent. Steering is precise and responsive.
Engine & Transmission
The 1.8 litre B-Series o.h.v. straight four-cylinder 1798cc engine is superb. A reconditioned Unipart Goldseal engine was fitted in 1989 and painted in the correct MG black.
The history file indicates that very little mileage has been covered since and only 4500 miles in the last 18 years.
Having been stored in a private collection and seldom used over the past 6 years, we have just completed a £1750 comprehensive service, including a complete strip and rebuild of the carburettors, new alternator, new battery, and all fluids replaced etc.
Needless to say, she responds superbly, pulls strongly in every gear, starts easily hot or cold, has perfect oil pressure and idles faultlessly. Overdrive in 3rd and 4th gears, which operates in and out with ease, the gearbox and clutch are light and precise.
She sounds magical through the full stainless steel exhaust... Such fun to drive.

The MGB is a classic British roadster that was originally introduced in 1962. By 1967, changes were incorporated that lead to the designation of the MGB Mk II (officially the 1968 model year). This model continued in production until August 1971, and was then superseded by the MGB roadster Mk III in October 1971.
Like the Mk I and Mk II MGB, the Mk III is a two-door roadster powered by a front-mounted, rear-wheel drive 1798cc B Series engine. The Mark III benefitted from a revised interior, with centre console now utilising rocker switches and with two air vents in the middle. An armrest was added between the front seats.
In October 1972, the MGB Mk III roadster was fitted with a black plastic cross-mesh grille with a wide chrome surround (now incorporating the MG badge) and vertical centre chrome bar. The steering wheel was redesigned, and padded armrests replaced the door pull straps.
