Painted in unmarked and rare optional Designo Hyacinth Red. Mercedes advanced nanotechnology paint finishes help resist scratches by infusing the clearcoat with tiny ceramic particles.
The flagship Edition 1, offers a more exclusive styling package as well as some extra equipment, uprated aero and a carbon fibre roof.
The most obvious changes over the GT S include a large fixed rear wing in place of the smaller retractable spoiler plus redesigned aero at the front. A deeper front splitter and more prominent side skirts.

Filling the arches are unmarked optional extra AMG 19"/20" forged-alloy cross spoke design wheels with excellent all matching Michelin Pilot Sport tyres.
AMG High-performance Braking System. Compound front brake discs bolt perforated, ventilated and slotted 15.4" steel friction rings to lightweight aluminum centers. Red-painted fixed 6-piston front calipers. Vented and perforated 14.2" rear discs with sizable floating calipers.
Engine & Transmission
Born to perform... The motorsports know-how that’s engineered into every component of the AMG GT S 'Edition 1' 503-hp biturbo V-8 gives the car its racing heart, built using the same principles as the engines powering AMG’s Formula 1, DTM and GT3 racecars.
A plaque on the engine cover bears the signature of its builder. The two hands that lovingly craft each engine do more than bring it to life. They also give each AMG GT S its undeniable soul.

AMG aimed to make the GT a pure sports car. The lineup bowed in AMG GT guise and the AMG GT S arrived not long after with a 503-hp version of the V-8—nearly 50 more than the standard engine—an adaptive suspension, a revised rear differential with electronic control, additional Race and Race Start drive modes for the AMG Dynamic Select system, upsized 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, and a sport exhaust system with a bypass that opens up a more aggressive rumble at higher engine speeds.
The AMG GT S ‘Edition 1’ introduced the car to the world with special paint finishes, leather and Alcantara-wrapped sports seats, red seat belts, a carbon fibre roof, and a special body kit with a fixed rear spoiler.
